Be Grateful You’re an American!
Here’s the basic info:
When: The celebrations take place every Friday evening, and I mean EVERY SINGLE FRIDAY. Rain, wind, snow, sleet, plagues of locusts, etc. don’t keep the hardcore patriots from FreeRepublic.com and other stalwarts from gathering for a few hours to say thanks to the wounded warriors and their kin and caretakers. We start gathering around 6:30p and hang out until 10-ish.
Where: the intersection of Georgia Ave. NW and Elder Street in D.C.
Parking: There’s plenty of on-street parking, plus a small church lot directly across from the gate. Many of us park in the little lot and that’s where we setup the large signs and the canteen. You’re welcome to park there or on the street.
What to bring: You may bring anything you want, but you’re only required to bring your enthusiasm! We’ve got plenty of signs and flags to share. People come and go throughout the evening with many of us “hard core” staying the entire time. Come when you can and stay as long as you like.

See you soon!
Why: To make sure our beloved troops know that they are appreciated! CodePink has been relegated to an alcove way down the block, but they will not be allowed to be the only voices heard or the only visual sign that the sacrifice of our wounded warriors is not forgotten. Our brave young men and women truly appreciate seeing friendly faces and genuine gratitude for the pain they’ve suffered on our behalf.
Here’s the MapQuest link. The corners on which we gather are 2 blocks north of the main gate.

Tribes. "I am not a wolf. I have never harmed a person in my life. But I am not a sheep, either. I know these forces are out there, and wishing it were not so will not only not make them go away – it will rob me of my chance to kick their ass when they show up."
