Be Grateful You’re an American!
I’m going to start selling these things, since algore is doing it, too!
From Ecotality’s “Why the Gore Story Matters“:
So far, so good. So, where does Gore buy his ‘carbon offsets’? According to The Tennessean newspaper’s report, Gore buys his carbon offsets through Generation Investment Management. a company he co-founded and serves as chairman:
Gore helped found Generation Investment Management, through which he and others pay for offsets. The firm invests the money in solar, wind and other projects that reduce energy consumption around the globe…
Hot damn!! What a schweet deal! I think I’ll name the new company “Algore Said It’s OK!”. Only I’m going to sell ‘offsets’ to other people and not just to myself.
Instead of planting trees, I’ll plant daffodils and dahlias — yeah, that’s the ticket! Ooooo, so many ideas to hatch…

OK, I’m dense. I had no idea a “carbon offset” industry was out there. Seems to be on the line of pet rocks, only with Hollywood bling snake oil added. Got an idea Algore, if you really want to conserve..whatever, JUST DO IT! The man’s paying a whipping boy to take his beating. Poor man, he might actually get inconvenienced if he really had to reduce his lifestyle. And, the best part, he’s paying his own company?! If it wasn’t for the beastly hypocrisy thing, I’d probably tip my hat to that one.
I love daffodils and dahlias. How much for driving my car to work and back? Oh, and my retched horse emits methane gas. Gads, I’m really going to owe A.S.I.OK. I feel horrible now. Wait, how about we lobby Algore to pay HIS company to counter MY gluttony, then I feel good, he’s richer, and we can save the earth!

Yeah, God forbid Al swim in an unheated swimming pool, or - here’s a concept - swim at the local municipal pool. What a schmuck. He, Kerry & Teresa with their 7 mansions, John Edwards with his new gigantic spread in NC - as my hubby said today, it’s sorta like the Emperor with no clothes.

Don’t feel bad Donna…I was ignorant of the whole “carbon offset” industry too…but then…ignorance is bliss.

Mr greenjeans uses more electricity at the TN “house” in one month than average users consume in an entire year! He also uses natural gas!

carbon offsets/credits?
…I’ve heard of the AQMD/EPA selling NOx credits, but carbon offsets? (what a scam) - sanctioned by who? - a carbon tax for the common man?
I guess Al’s still pissed about the 2000 election, - perpetrating a friggin’ hoax of this magnitude on the American people, and getting rich at the same time.
“…it’s not a political issue, it’s a moral issue”
Yep, and now we know that while Al is rich and famous, he’s also morally bankrupt.
…here’s an idea, instead of buying credits, how about planting a tree or two?
God love him, that’s our “goracle of delphi”

Just another feel-good scam by Mr. Wood…scamming the rest of the world, that is.
