Be Grateful You’re an American!
Try as I might, I still can’t get some pics to show up in Internet Explorer. This story had to be told with pics, so I decided to post it over at the old GunnNutt site. Do yourself (and me) a favor and start using Firefox!
The title says it all – taken from a quote in the August 23rd edition of San Luis Obispo Tribune about an event organized by OperationComfort.org and ampsurf.com, and worked by volunteer/supporter/friend of milblogs/very nice lady – Donna, Los Osos. She was a volunteer for the event and kindly sent me more info about the week long camp and the terrific people involved.
Please check out Donna’s most excellent adventure!

Tribes. "I am not a wolf. I have never harmed a person in my life. But I am not a sheep, either. I know these forces are out there, and wishing it were not so will not only not make them go away – it will rob me of my chance to kick their ass when they show up."

Do you want us to comment on both sides?
August 26th, 2006 at 11:34 pm
Yes! Comments everywhere!!! HAHAHAHAHA!
Actually, I’d rather hear from you guys on this site. It’s easier for me to see them. But you can leave them where ever you want.

WOW! I “made the trip” over to Donna’s site to read about this. Left a comment there but hope everyone will not only go there and read it but pass it along to EVERYONE they know. Hey, if people can keep forwarding those #*&@ emails promising 500 extra years of life and billions of dollars if you forward then they CAN tell everyone about stories like this!

All involved are true inspirations.

It may be a filename problem. IE illegally “translates” some characters in filenames, so the filename doesn’t match anymore. Try taking all spaces, parens, anything but underscores and alphanumerics out of filenames when you post images, and see how that works.

Thanks Prof, but the problem appears to be with combining images with other HTML tags, like tables and blockquotes. WordPress (or at least in this template) adds paragraph tags that I don’t want and I can’t get rid of them, then it squalks about improper tags!?!

I’m glad you all like Donna’s post! I think it’s great that one of milblogs best supporters got to participate and report on this wonderful event!

GN, This is just awesome! What a bunch of heroes!

When one thinks of all the horrible things that can happen to someone, many think if somehow if they acquired similar injuries, it would be all over for them. These guys are leaders who demonstrate that this is not true. Every person should find hope in this and be hugely greatful for this hope. Our troops never quit being rolemodels.

Yeah, wordpress includes a textile engine that replaces carriage returns with break or paragraph tags, but that wouldn’t affect whether images show or not, just the placement, or white space above and below. Odds are it’s not a wordpress problem, but a problem with your theme, since it sounds like an IE/CSS glitch.

I do not have the words as to how cool this is for the guys!
