Be Grateful You’re an American!
Keep some thoughts about Freedom of Speech in mind as we head in to the next election season, and check out some words of wisdom by the “street smart”.
Here’s my promise: If a conservative organization wants to run a political ad criticizing any Congressman up for re-election during that 60-day window, I’ll let them run one on this website, for free, right up until Election Day.And if Congress or for that matter law enforcement think that I’m going to refrain from criticizing an elected or wannabe-elected official, ever, they’re sadly mistaken. – Kim Du Toit, Yeah, Right
I will hold true to my oath in word and deed. McCain and Feingold can crumple their campaign finance reform bill straight up their asses. If they want to debate me, I’ll be happy to nail a copy of the constitution to their heads before we begin the debate. Moreover, I will permanently oppose them on the blog with my little left-banner ad. I’ll support any organization who wants to campaign against McCain, Feingold, Murtha, Kerry, or other dingbats as I see fit, all they have to do is ask. If I agree with their platform, I’ll gladly put thier little ad on my page. -Capt Ziegenfuss, Screw McCain-Feingold
Speaking of smart guys, Master Gunner has a wonderful post today – Iraq -VS- Vietnam: Similar, But Not How You Think…- wherein he identifies the differences between the GWOT and Vietnam. I found it particularly timely since I had a conversation with a Vientam Vet (who served as a medic) yesterday in my favorite ‘ceegar’ shop. He lamented that he wished someone had sent him cigars while he was “over there”.

5. Similar: A deeply divided homefront, with very little support for the War effort. Anti-War is “Hip”, and support for the War effort is seen as “Not Cool”.6. Different: Unprecedented re-enlistment rates for Soldiers who have served in Iraq, often re-upping to stay in the same unit so they may return to the Front. Most Vietnam-era draftees would do a tour, then get out of the Military.
The first comment on the post is from an Aussie who’s supporting OUR TROOPS with letters and care packages!
Personally, I think these guys are VERY COOL!!!! and the anti-war ‘tards are, like, total losers ‘n stuff.

Tribes. "I am not a wolf. I have never harmed a person in my life. But I am not a sheep, either. I know these forces are out there, and wishing it were not so will not only not make them go away – it will rob me of my chance to kick their ass when they show up."

Thanks for the kind words.
I honestly believe that both conflicts have some striking similarities, but not ones that the Mainstream Media care to show.
I would hate for America to make the same mistake twice.
